Spring 2024 Equip Classes

These are the current semester's Equip Classes and what topics they will be going over.

Taught by Paul Simmons in Reception Hall

Revelation
Few books in the New Testament stir up as much interest and as many questions as John's Revelation. But Revelation is not a secret code or puzzle to predict the end of the world. It's a message to seven ancient churches who were facing persecution. lt's an indictment of earthly kingdoms that makes that point that every human kingdom eventually becomes Babylon and must be resisted. The book is filled with visions and images that point to Jesus' return as the ultimate King, where he will restore his people and usher in the new creation This promise motivates every generation of God's people to remain faithful in the midst of persecution and hardship.
(January 24 - May 1)

Facilitated by Paula Compton in Room 122

Luke: Gut-Level Compassion - Lisa Harper
Many women believe that we aren't good enough to meet other people's expectations. Maybe you can't wrap words around why, but lurking beneath the surface of the carefully curated public mask that you wear. The great news woven throughout the Gospel according to Luke is that perfection is not a prerequisite for a deep and personal relationship with Jesus. Join Lisa Harper in this Bible study of a literary masterpiece that doesn't celebrate the elite, but embraces the outliers, outcasts, and overlooked! (Cost of $15)
(BEGINNING FEBRUARY 14 - May 1)

Colossians - Louie Giglio
Navigation Your Finances God's Way - Howard Dayton
What we think about Jesus matters. Our perception of Him shapes us-what we say, how we treat others, even what we think. If we paint Jesus as any less than who He is as supreme over all creation and savior of the world, not only does our theology slip, but the working out of our faith also suffers. This 8-session series will take us through Colossians to help us form a complete picture of Jesus. What we believe about Him influences everything from our corporate worship to our relationships to our attitude toward sin. Now alive in Christ, we can live a life worthy of God instead of falling back into the ways of the world.
(March 20 - May 1)
