Jesus uses an allegory in John 10 to reveal truths about salvation as He contrasts Himself with the Pharisees and asks the crowd to choose. Verses 1-10 uses images of Jesus entering Israel’s sheepfold by the gate and then Jesus as the only true gate. In a third image (verses 11-18), Jesus is shown to be the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep.
